Alex Tudun,
How do you illustrate concepts like "reconnection" or "meaningful communication" without drowning in clichés? Lavender Lane helps married couples strengthen their relationships through guided activities and personalized support. The app needed empty state illustrations; those moments when there's no content yet and the screen needs to explain what happens next without feeling hollow or confusing. The brief required iconography and illustration that could explain complex relationship concepts instantly while adding visual interest across the app.
The illustration style had to scale across contexts; from tiny icons to full empty states; while using the brand's colors in ways that matched the emotional tone of each moment. Some screens needed warmth, others needed calm, a few required energy. The illustrations tell stories before users read a word. They show couples doing things together, moments of connection, paths forward. The work reinforces what the app is about without overexplaining it. Simple forms, clear messaging, room for the brand to show up without taking over.
